AYCLIFFE GREYHOUND STADIUM

The greyhound track in the County Durham town of Newton Aycliffe was situated on Grindon Way and had reference 1° 34' W 54° 35' N. Unlike many local tracks which were jointly used by speedway and greyhound racing, the Aycliffe track shared its usage with stock car racing. The first meeting was held just after the end of World War 2 in 1946 and the track continued to hold independent race meetings until closing in 1960.
